Sumner County Election results: Who won in all the local races?
Editor's note: Results published tonight are unofficial until certified by the Sumner County Election Commission.
Unofficial election results are in for Sumner County, where a handful of local races were decided Nov. 5, including Sumner County Sheriff, Hendersonville Mayor and a Sales and Use Tax Rate Referendum in Gallatin.
Thousands flocked to the polls to cast ballots early and on Election Day.

Sumner County has 140,848 registered voters and 98,706, or a little more than 70%, voted in this election, according to the Sumner County Election Commission, which also reported that 66,981 residents voted early during this cycle.
Here are the local race recaps, with all precincts reporting, including early and absentee votes:
Sheriff Unexpired Term
Eric M. Craddock: 79,681
Write-In: 1,362
Eric M. Craddock, the current interim Sumner County Sheriff, was officially elected to office Tuesday.
Craddock was appointed to the job after longtime Sumner County Sheriff Roy "Sonny" Weatherford died at the age of 65 while attending the 2024 Sheriffs' Association Conference in Pigeon Forge on Aug. 2.

More than 500 vehicles were estimated to have driven in the procession that spanned roughly 7.5 miles and escorted Weatherford from Long Hollow Church to Crestview Funeral Home in Gallatin about three months ago.
City of Gallatin Alderman at-Large

Incumbent P. Shawn Fennell was re-elected in an uncontested race to serve as Alderman at-Large in Gallatin.

Paul T. Jones won an uncontested race for District 1 Alderman in Gallatin.
City of Gallatin Alderman District 2
Todd Alexander: 2,100
Aaron Allison (Incumbent): 1,629
Write-In: 13
Todd Alexander secured the majority vote for District 2 Alderman in Gallatin, replacing incumbent Aaron Allison.
City of Gallatin Sales and Use Tax Rate Referendum
For: 10,696
Against: 8,993
Gallatin's sales tax referendum calls for an increase of half a penny per dollar for the purpose of increasing investment in city services like parks, roads and public safety.
The ordinance passed on first reading on July 2 and passed on second reading on Aug. 20, according to the Sumner County Election Commission.

Incumbent Stuart Huffman was not re-elected.
City of Hendersonville Mayor
Jamie Clary: 25,595

Incumbent Jamie Clary was re-elected as Hendersonville Mayor on Nov. 5.
Clary has served as the Mayor of Hendersonville since 2016, when he beat out three opponents for the seat. He was re-elected in 2020, securing a majority vote.

He ran unopposed this year.

Incumbent Mark Burgdorf won the majority vote Tuesday and was re-elected as Ward 1 Alderman in Hendersonville over challenger Ed Forbes.

Incumbent Jeff Sasse narrowly beat out challenger Andy Kaczmarek for the Ward 3 Alderman seat in Hendersonville by a margin of 22 votes.

Mark Evans won the majority vote for Ward 6 Alderman in Hendersonville, unseating incumbent Jim Waters.
City of Millersville City Commissioner (3)

With three commission seats up for grabs, Lincoln Atwood, Dustin Darnall and Jesse Powell won election on the Sumner County side of Millersville. The city is split between Robertson and Sumner Counties, so the candidates appear on both ballots.
Incumbent Alisa Huling secured a little more than 17% of votes in Sumner County. She fared better on the Robertson ballot, edging Powell out of the top three there, but once the votes were counted in both counties Tuesday, the race was separated by only 9 votes, making it too close to call.
Powell had 834 votes to Huling's 825.
Millersville has seen a slew of personnel changes over the last several months, as city officials have battled accusations of fraud, financial turmoil, corruption and more.

The city's fire and police chiefs, city attorney and city manager were all fired earlier this year with little to no explanation, and in the months since, other city officials have resigned and left town.

City of Portland Alderman (4)

Incumbents Jody McDowell and Brian Woodall, Charles Cole and Vince Ellis were elected as Portland Aldermen by a majority vote on the Sumner County side of the city, which, like Millersville, is split between Robertson and Sumner Counties.
Incumbent Latoya Holcomb secured a little more than 14% of votes in Sumner County.
The winners were the same in Robertson County as they were in Sumner County, election results show.
