Suncoast: Operation No Receipt target retail theft

CCSORecently, some of our District 2 members conducted "Operation No Receipt" to target retail thefts in our community. District 2 includes the commercial area of Port Charlotte where there is an increased likelihood of thefts to be attempted.As a result of these efforts, several cases were developed and thefts prevented thanks to increased patrols, deputies working in undercover capacities, and collaboration with our Real-Time Intelligence Center and Criminal Investigations Unit.Sheriff Prummell commended his team and warned criminals, saying, "My deputies did a great job in identifying the trend and taking action against it. That's why our community trusts us – because they see operations like this and know that we're on top of it. I hope it's clear to the people who plan on committing crime here that you may not see us, but it's very likely that we will see you... and then it's too late.
