Superstar singer notes role in Eric Adams case: ‘Should we talk about how I got the mayor indicted?’

Is it possible that a certain "Short n' Sweet" pop star has ties to the recent indictment of New York City Mayor Eric Adams ?

Sabrina Carpenter is known to throw a few clever puns and jokes onstage during her performances. She weighed in on the alleged link. during her "Short n' Sweet" tour stop at New York City's Madison Square Garden Sunday night.

The pop star spoke to the crowd and made a well-placed joke during a break between songs.

"Damn, what now? Should we talk about how I got the mayor indicted or..."

Where does this all come from? The New York Post noted that Carpenter's video for her 2023 song "Feather" might have played a minor role in the indictment proceedings.

The video, which has 90 million views on YouTube, was filmed around and inside the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in Brooklyn.

"Feather" received immediate backlash for its "violent and sexually provocative" nature. The Diocese of Brooklyn released a statement via the Catholic News Agency denouncing the video. This led to Rev. Monsignor Jamie J. Gigantiello being stripped of his duties for approving the shoot.

The New York Post then notes a federal subpoena was issued to the church to obtain information about business between Gigantiello and his close friend Frank Carone. Carone happens to be Mayor Adams' ex-chief of staff, and the indictment itself noted Carpenter's video.
