Support The First 'Friends Of The Wallace Center Giving Day' Giving Day is Wednesday, Sept. 25.

GREENWICH, CT — The Friends of the Wallace Center invite the community to support the center during the first Friends of the Wallace Center Giving Day.

The kick-off coffee and conversation with First Selectman Fred Camillo will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 25, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Wallace Center Cafe for members. Membership is free to Greenwich residents aged 55 and older.

September is Healthy Aging Month, an important reminder to explore new interests and talents, enhance fitness and health, make new friends, enjoy delicious food, and enjoy the pleasant company of others at the Wallace Center.

The Wallace Center, a trusted local resource located in the heart of town on Greenwich Avenue, is dedicated to fostering community and connecting older adults to the programs, services, and opportunities they need to age well. The Wallace Center plays a crucial role in promoting healthy aging, offering access to health information, opportunities for social engagement, and volunteerism, all in a social, fun, affordable, and conveniently located environment.

This initiative is not just about a day of giving but about making a tangible difference in the lives of Greenwich community members. The Wallace Center Giving Day campaign aims to meet the most immediate programmatic needs of the Center. Donations will help procure new handheld weights and rack systems for their fitness programs and a large projection screen television that will enhance a wide range of member programs and events.

Every donation will ensure that older adults have access to vital resources such as exercise classes, educational workshops, and social events that promote healthy aging. "We are incredibly thankful for the support of our community through the Friends of The Wallace Center Giving Day," said Anne Marie Hynes, Chairperson of the Friends of the Wallace Center, in a news release. "This event not only helps us raise crucial funds but also allows us to spread awareness about healthy aging and empower individuals to prioritize their own well-being."

Donations can be made online now through Sept. 30, or via mail: The Wallace Center Attn: Giving Day 299 Greenwich Avenue Greenwich, CT 06830
