Susan Kay (Kissinger) Guile

Susan Kay (Kissinger) Guile, 63, was called home by our Heavenly Father on 21 October 2024. Susan was born 5 March 1961 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Effie Pauline (Foster) and Forrest "Dutch" Kissinger, COL (ret), USAF. She is preceded in death by her mother, Pauline who passed in 1991. As an Air Force family, Susan moved several times living in West Texas, South Texas, Nebraska, Florida, Alabama, Virginia, and finally Pennsylvania, graduating from Carlisle High School in 1979. Susan went on to graduate with an Undergraduate Degree in Art from Shippensburg State College in 1983. A talented artist, Susan painted mostly oil on canvas and was active in the EL Paso International Museum of Art, El Paso Artists Association, and local painting groups where she was celebrated for her Western art featuring Cowboys and Horses, although she did other subjects as well and won awards for her work.
Susan is survived by her husband of 16 years, Bradley Guile of El Paso; step-daughter, Lisa Guile of Colorado; father and Vietnam Veteran, Forrest Kissinger of Carlisle, Pa.; brothers, Steve Kissinger of Windsor, Pa., Keith Kissinger of Lubbock, Texas, Jim Kissinger of Huber Heights, Ohio, and Andrew Kissinger of Schertz, Texas. As well as a long list of nieces and nephews, Lindsey, Amanda, Sara, Dana, Niki, Ryan, Jennifer, Josh, Nicholas, Anders and Paulina who all loved their Aunt Susan.
We would like to thank a large group of people who stood by Susan's side, lovingly caring for her, especially in the last two months. People who dropped everything and put their lives on hold for Susan, ex-sisters-in-law (the outlaws), Jamie Belfonti and Christine Hasselbacher who were by her side at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and at her home in El Paso; high school and college roommate, Kathy Kohr who wrote her poems; nephew and niece, Eric and Randi Tritch who were there for Susan and her family both in Houston and in El Paso caring for her animals; niece, Kristen Troy who held her hand in her last days; and her most special friend, Arlene Milam of Mililani, Hawaii, who cared for her 24/7 over the last 13 days of Susan's life.
