NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man has been charged with the deadly shooting of a woman at an Antioch apartment in October, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Jon Hamilton, 27, was charged with criminal homicide and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on Nov. 4, just over one week after the incident was reported.

On Oct. 27, 35-year-old Kianna Cayetano was found with a gunshot wound to the chest in an apartment on the 3900 block of Apache Trail. She was later pronounced dead at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

An autopsy report showed Cayetano was shot in the back and suffered an exit wound through her chest, according to court documents.

Cayetano's alleged boyfriend told officers Hamilton and another suspect had entered the apartment while he was asleep and woke him up by holding a knife to his throat, officials said. While speaking with the male victim, officers observed that he had a fresh knife wound on his neck which measured about three inches long, reports said.

Investigators reviewed video footage from the parking lot, which showed two individuals parking a car in front of Cayetano's apartment and entering the building shortly after.

Minutes later, the pair was seen running from the building. Officials said one suspect got into a vehicle and fled the scene, while the other entered another building in the same complex.

Hamilton was identified by neighbors and video surveillance footage from inside the apartment.

Hamilton is detained in Metro jail on a $550,000 bond. No information about the second suspect in this case was released.
