FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Investigators suspect alcohol may have been a factor in a crash that left two men dead Saturday evening just outside of Reedley, the California Highway Patrol announced.

CHP says around 7 p.m. they responded to Englehart and Manning Avenues for a report of a two-vehicle collision.

Investigators determined a Chevrolet Impala was traveling southbound on Englehart Avenue approaching the stop sign at Manning Avenue. A Ford F150 occupied by three people from Orange Cove was traveling westbound on the through road of Manning Avenue.

Detectives say for reasons yet to be determined the Chevrolet failed to stop and traveled in the path of the Ford. The Ford's front end collided with the left front of the Chevrolet.

As a result, the driver and right-front passenger of the Chevrolet sustained fatal injuries. The occupants of the Ford sustained minor injuries.

CHP says they are investigating alcohol as a factor in the collision as some indications lead them to believe so. Investigators are working to confirm.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released but detectives describe them as two men believed to be in their 30s.

This is an ongoing investigation and more information will be released as it becomes available.
