On November 5th, two vehicles were parked on the shoulder of I-10 in San Antonio when a woman in a sedan barreled into them from behind. Two individuals were killed and the woman sustained major injuries.

Violent San Antonio Crash

Drivers on Monday were surprised when I-10 shut down for hours due to a major wreck. Bexar County Sheriff's Office received information that a vehicle being loaded onto a trailer was rear-ended around 3pm that day.

All main lanes of I-10 West were blocked off and the Texas Department of Transportation urged drivers to find alternate routes to and fro as officials and road crews worked on clearing up the wreckage.

New Details on the Tragic Event

It has finally been revealed that the devastating accident was not entirely innocent. The Bexar County Sheriff's Office discovered that the driver of the vehicle that caused the accident, a 53-year-old woman, showed no signs of braking.

There were also open containers found inside her vehicle. Efforts are underway to determine her blood alcohol content (BAC) during the accident to determine if it was over the legal limit of .08.

According to My San Antonio , witnesses saw a white Chevrolet Silverado on the shoulder of I-10 with a dolly attached. Three men were attempting to secure a Ford F-150 truck to the dolly when the woman driving a Hyundai Genesis drove straight into them from behind.

The woman was taken to University Hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the Ford F-150 was also injured but survived. Two men , 38-year-old Fabian Pedraza Rebollar and 46-year-old Rufino Pedraza Rebollar, died as a result of the accident. Fabian was rushed to University Hospital but later succumbed to his injuries, while Rufino died at the scene.
