Swampscott Police Celebrate Trailblazing Patrol Shift Sunday was the first all-female shift in the 142-year history of the department.SWAMPSCOTT, MA — The Swampscott Police Department celebrated some trailblazing history on Sunday with the first all-female patrol officer shift in the 142-year history of the department.
Officers Angelica Noble, Briana Sanchez and Nicole Magee all joined the department 11 months ago.
"These officers are a testament to the progress, resilience, and leadership that our profession and our community rightly deserve," Swampscott police posted on social media. "Their presence on the streets not only enhances public safety but also inspires future generations to know there is no limit to what can be achieved."
The Swampscott Police Department was incorporated in 1882.
