SWAT, police presence reported in Kettering

KETTERING, Ohio ( WDTN ) — A large police presence has been spotted in a Kettering neighborhood Sunday. Several police are on scene in the 3100 block of Bulah Avenue in Kettering. Upon arrival, 2 NEWS saw SWAT personnel on scene as well. Mutual aid called to overnight fire in Medway Police are currently in a reported standoff situation with an occupant in one of the homes on Bulah Avenue. Using loud speakers, crews are ordering the occupant to come out. The incident began earlier this morning around 8:30 a.m. Crime scene tape has roped off a section of the neighborhood while crews are on scene. This story is developing. Pete Hegseth, the Army National Guard veteran and Fox News host nominated by Donald Trump to lead the Department of Defense, was flagged as a possible "Insider Threat" by a fellow service member due to a tattoo on his bicep that's associated with white supremacist groups. Hegseth, who has downplayed the role of military members and veterans in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack and railed against the Pentagon's subsequent efforts to address extremism in the ranks, has said he was pulled by his District of Columbia National Guard unit from guarding Joe Biden's January 2021 inauguration.
