TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - A 45-year-old Tallahassee man will serve 20 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to child sexual abuse crimes.

Alan Joseph Clark, Jr., was sentenced to 240 months behind bars after he pled guilty to six counts of "production of child pornography" and one count of "possession of child pornography," according to a press release from the Northern District of Florida branch of the U.S. Department of Justice.

"Crimes against children are among the most heinous types of offenses and deserving of the most significant sentences," said U.S. Attorney Jason Coody. "The sexual abuse of children robs them of their innocence and results in devastating psychological pain."

After his sentence, Clark will be required to register as a sex offender and live under supervised release for the rest of his life.

He is also required to pay his victims.

"The Court also ordered forfeiture of electronic devices used in the commission of the offenses by Clark and he was ordered to pay a minimum of $15,000, in restitution to the identified victims of the child pornography in his possession," a press release said.

Clark's sentencing comes after investigators uncovered in 2023 that Clark had obtained child sexual abuse materials online. A press release from the DOJ said that Clark also produced sexually explicit videos of children.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Meredith Steer prosecuted the case. The Leon County Sheriff's Office, Homeland Security Investigations and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement worked together on the investigation, according to the DOJ statement.

"This individual's disgusting and deviant behavior of producing sexual images of children inflicts irreparable psychological damage upon innocent lives," said HSI Tallahassee Assistant Special Agent in Charge Nicholas Ingegno. "This cannot and will not be tolerated."
