PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Panama City Beach locals and visitors will now have access to certain medical services on the west end of Panama City Beach.

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare recently opened two new offices at its new medical office plaza on Highway 79.

"There'll be new providers to Panama City Beach and really Bay County," said Andrew Starr, Chief Operations Officer at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare. "This is a needed service like many other clinical specialties, there is a shortage not just in Panama City Beach and Bay County, but frankly across the country."

As Bay County continues to grow the need for health care is crucial.

The two additional healthcare practices, TMH Physician Partners, and Services by Southern Medical Group include cardiology and pulmonary, critical care, and sleep. All of which are accepting new patients.

"Pulmonary critical care opened this week, and our primary care and urgent care opened a little over a month ago. All the practices are accepting new patients," said Starr.

TMH is also offering new jobs for the community.

"More doctors coming into the area, more importantly, more doctors coming to the area and being close to where they live," said Starr.

Doctors can provide services so people can stay close to their homes.

"Having great health care is important having access to great health care, having great access to health care local is especially important," said Starr.

Healthcare officials say soon the medical plaza will have an ambulatory surgery center.

Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare will be opening a hospital in 2027.
