Taste test reveals where you can find the best tap water in Minnesota
Residents of Bloomington are lucky enough to have the best-tasting tap water in Minnesota, with the south metro city coming out on top in a taste test against 17 other cities.
The conference hosted by the American Water Works Association Minnesota Chapter (AWWA) was held in Duluth last week, and saw cities bring tap water samples that met national specifications for judges to test blind.
Bloomington was named "Best in Glass" ahead of its metro neighbor Richfield in second, with Belle Plaine in third.
Other cities that entered include Owatonna, St. Peter, and Moorhead – the latter of which was the winner of the 2024 Minnesota State Fair Tap Water Taste Test.
Now, Bloomington will advance to the International AWWA "Best in Glass" competition which will be held at Denver in June 2025. The last time the city won this prestigious title was in 2016.
