A 17-year-old is facing multiple charges for allegedly killing two people by driving the wrong way on the Henry Hudson Parkway, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg's office announced on Wednesday.

Jimmy Connors is being charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter and leaving the scene of an incident without reporting, according to prosecutors. He is accused of driving his Chevy Silverado pickup truck southbound while on the northbound lane of the parkway around 2:25 a.m. on Aug. 24, according to court documents and statements.

While driving, Connors hit another car containing cousins Kirk Walker and Robert McLaurin, Bragg's office alleged. Both men were later pronounced dead at a hospital.

Connors reportedly left his car, which was eventually engulfed in flames, and ran into the woods. The following day, the authorities detained him at the Canadian border, where he was attempting to flee.

The DA's office said it is still looking for witnesses to the incident. An attorney representing Connors did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
