Teen riding bike suffers major injuries after being struck by vehicle

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A teen riding a bicycle was hospitalized with major injuries after they were struck by a vehicle in northeast Bakersfield, officials said.

The collision was reported just before 3 p.m. at Columbus and Loyola streets. Bakersfield Fire Department officials said the 13-year-old boy was taken to Kern Medical for treatment.

Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
