Temp Drop, Rain Possible After Final Day Of Mild Temps In Chicago Area As a cold front pushes through Thursday night, gusty winds and rain are possible.

ILLINOIS — Thursday will be the last day of mild temperatures as the recent warmth comes to an end, according to the National Weather Service.

Thursday will see highs of 69 degrees, before a cold front moves through the area on Thursday night, the weather service said. Showers are possible Thursday night, as well as wind gusts up to 35 mph starting in the afternoon.

Rain is also possible on Friday, which has a forecasted high of 53, according to the weather service.

Temperatures will stay in the 50s for the weekend and start of the work week, as a high of 50 is expected Saturday, a high of 55 on Sunday and a high of 50 on Monday, according to the weather service.

And, the cold doesn't stop there.

"A reinforcing shot of cold air may arrive by Thanksgiving," the weather service said.

Currently, the forecast is calling for highs in the 40s and 30s in the days leading up to Thanksgiving. The weather service's forecast does also mention a chance of snow and rain on Tuesday night.
