Temperatures crest Wednesday, then turn cooler
M.Green3 months ago
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - It a repeating pattern of last week. Sun filled skies and warm afternoons that plateau mid week before returning to the levels that they should be in mid November by the time the work week ends. So it was last week and so it will follow again this week. (KSNB) Wednesday will again push into the upper 60s and lowers 70s. The record for Grand Island is 76 and we’re forecasting 71. Today’s record was threatened as well, a close call with the thermometer falling just two degrees short, but it was a good effort. Tomorrow will be an a nicer day even if the temperatures remain identical, as the winds will not be as disruptive. (KSNB) And like last week temperatures will do an about face, sending the thermometer toward mid November levels by Friday following a cold front plowing through the region on Thursday with a few sprinkles, maybe a shower possible. From the lower 70s the week will end in the lower 50s, but still three degrees better than the averages. (KSNB) Changes arrive by Sunday, as an upper level trough brings rain chances to central and eastern areas of the state, followed by a newly discovered subtle wave that will draw in additional cold that could covert Sandhills rain into snow, which appears content to stay to the west. Rain chances will continue into Monday before the sun breaks through on Tuesday, but the November chill will already be in motion dropping morning lows by Tuesday morning into the upper 20s, again making us reach for our jackets.
