Terre Haute mayor, wife welcome new daughter into world

Terre Haute Mayor Brandon Sakbun has said it is his goal to grow the city's population, and on Monday morning with the assistance of his wife Paiton, he did.
Scarlett Sakbun was born at 6:53 a.m. She weighed 7 pounds and 3 ounces.
Sakbun issued a statement:
"The Mayor and his lovely wife, Paiton Sakbun, welcomed their first child earlier this morning. Mayor Brandon will be on a limited schedule for the next two weeks.
"Thankfully, my family and her family are in town. We are so blessed to welcome a healthy daughter into this world. My wife is incredible. We want to thank our families and the staff at Union Hospital for making this a memorable experience."
Sakbun reported his wife and child are "doing wonderful."
