5th annual Alpha tractor parade remembers community member

ALPHA, Mich. (WLUC) - Tractors rolled down the street in Alpha for its 5th annual tractor parade on Sunday.

Event Organizer Neil Adank says at least 30 tractors participated, and some are over 75 years old.

People fixed up their tractors just for the parade and also offered a hayride for attendees.

Adank says tractors are a big part of the community. He and his wife started the event because he grew up with tractors.

"Tractors have been around for many, many years, as far as the farming goes," Adank said. "There's a lot of farmers in the area, so they like to come out and see the old tractors."

This year's parade is in memory of community member Lyle Wiencek who died in the spring.

Parade attendees say he was always part of the parade and would've loved to have one in his name.
