The Detroit Lions are one of the best teams in the NFL through the first eleven weeks. At 8-2, they have a commanding position over the NFC North and look to put some distance between themselves and the rest of the division by taking care of the Green Bay Packers at home on turkey day. They need the win too, because the NFC is quite top heavy. Every win is going to matter for that first round Bye. Thanksgiving Day Football - Week 12Green Bay Packers (4-6) at Detroit Lions (8-2)

Straight-up, against the spread, and over/under picks. Division games on a short week, I tend to always take the underdog to cover the spread in these games and I usually go with the under too. I did that here today, but I do think the Lions come out on top and move to 9-2 on the season. Denver Broncos Thanksgiving Day History In each of our open threads today, I wanted to recap some of the moments from our own Denver Broncos on Thanksgiving Day. We’ll stick to their games against the Lions for this one. In 11 Thanksgiving Day games, the Broncos have won just four times. The holiday has not been easy on them. Against these Lions, they are 1-2 on the holiday. The first two games happened in 1974 and 1978. Both teams were evenly matched record-wise in 1974 and Denver came out on top 31-27, but in 1978 the Broncos were clear favorites. However, a late fourth quarter touchdown lifted the Lions over Denver in a 17-14 defensive struggle. The last time these two teams met on Thanksgiving was in 1990. It was the year after the Broncos were embarrassed 55-10 in the Super Bowl to the San Francisco 49ers . The Broncos essentially imploded after their Bye Week that year and lost six straight games, including a 40-27 beatdown by the Lions on Thanksgiving Day that year.
