Thanksgiving Grocery Store Hours In NoVA: Aldi, Wegmans, Trader Joe's Thanksgiving hours will be adjusted at Giant Food, Harris Teeter, Lidl, BJ's Wholesale, Food Lion and more Northern Virginia grocery stores.

VIRGINIA — Some grocery stores and pharmacies in Northern Virginia will open on Thanksgiving, including Giant and Safeway.

Many others will close, however, including Walmart and Target, both of which readjusted their holiday hours in 2021 to give employees a day off to spend with their families.

As always, if you need another pound of butter or an onion to finish cooking your Thanksgiving meal, it’s a good idea to call ahead to make sure they’re open.

Aldi : All stores are closed.

Over a dozen locations in Northern Virginia

BJ’s Wholesale Club : All stores are closed.

Costco : All stores are closed.

CVS : About 80 percent of stores will be closed.

Dozens of locations in Northern Virginia

Food Lion : All stores will close at 3 p.m., except Virginia stores in Roanoke, Lynchburg, Blacksburg and the Charlottesville region, which will close at 4 p.m. Stores are open regular hours on Black Friday.

Giant Food : All stores open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m., including stores normally open for 24 hours. Pharmacies are open from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., except for 24-hour stores that follow the same policy as grocery stores.

Harris Teeter : Stores open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Trader Joe’s : All stores are closed.

Virginia ABC : Virginia ABC stores will be closed on Thanksgiving and will resume normal operations on Friday.

Walgreens : Most stores will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; 24-hour stores and pharmacies will be open as usual, though some pharmacies may have modified hours.
