Thanksgiving Grocery Store Hours On Long Island: Who's Open, Who's Not It happens every year, you forget the whipped cream. Or the sage. Here's a list of where to go for last-minute Thanksgiving must-haves.

LONG ISLAND, NY — Some grocery stores and pharmacies on Long Island will open on Thanksgiving, including King Kullen, CVS, Stop & Shop and more.

Many others will close, however, including Walmart and Target, both of which readjusted their holiday hours in 2021 to give employees a day off to spend with their families.

As always, if you need another pound of butter or an onion to finish cooking your Thanksgiving meal, it’s a good idea to call ahead to make sure they’re open.

Here's a list of what's open and what's not on Long Island.

Aldi : All stores are closed.

BJ’s Wholesale Club : All stores are closed.

Costco : All stores are closed.

CVS : About 80 percent of stores will be closed.

King Kullen : Stores open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lidl : All stores will close.

Rite Aid : Most retail stores will be open, though hours vary by location, but pharmacies will be closed.

Sam’s Club : All stores are closed.

ShopRite : Stores are independently owned and operated, so it is recommended to call ahead to your preferred store to confirm hours.

Stop & Shop : Stores open regular hours.

Target : All stores are closed.

The Fresh Market : Stores will open, but hours vary by location.

Trader Joe’s : All stores are closed.

Walgreens : Most stores will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; 24-hour stores and pharmacies will be open as usual, though some pharmacies may have modified hours.

Walmart : All stores are closed.

Whole Foods : Hours vary by store.
