Thanksgiving Weather For Illinois: Cool And Dry On Thursday
ILLINOIS — If you're traveling later this week for Thanksgiving, the weather forecast looks like it'll be in your favor. While the week will start off rainy on Monday; by Thursday, it'll be cool and dry, according to the National Weather Service.
The weather service said rain chances will start to increase on Monday afternoon and into Tuesday. The forecast calls for rain amounts between 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch on Monday night; and another 1/10 to 1/4 inch of rain possible on Tuesday.
It may also be breezy, with gusts up to 25 mph on Monday and gusts up to 15 on Tuesday. Monday will have a high of 50 degrees, and Tuesday a high of 45.
Weather will dry out by Wednesday, when it will be sunny with a high of 45, according to the weather service.
Those who are traveling to see family on Thursday will be in luck; as the forecast again calls for mostly sunny weather with a high near 47 degrees, the weather service said.
After the holiday, temperatures will start to trend colder, with a high of 40 degrees on Friday, and highs in the upper 30s for the weekend, according to the weather service.
