The 10 Best Hospitals In Massachusetts: New National Ranking Newsweek recently published a list of the best in-state hospitals for 2025. Here's where the best are in Massachusetts.

MASSACHUSETTS — Ten hospitals have been ranked the best in Massachusetts in a new report from Newsweek.

Massachusetts General Hospital, in Boston, is the top-ranked hospital in Massachusetts in Newsweek and data partner Statista's America's Best In-State Hospitals 2025 ranking of more than 700 medical centers nationwide.

Other Massachusetts hospitals, listed in ranked order, include:

Brigham and Women's Hospital

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center

Tufts Medical Center

Lahey Hospital and Medical Center

UMass Memorial Medical Center

Newton-Wellesley Hospital

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital

Boston Medical Center

Milford Regional Medical Center

The 2025 best in-state hospitals list features medical facilities in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. The hospitals were ranked based on quality metrics from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and national surveys, including:

The American Hospital Association's Annual Survey of Hospitals Database, an online nationwide survey among medical professionals;

Results from Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems patient-experience surveys; and

Voluntary implementation surveys on PROMs (patient-reported outcome measures).
