As such, I need to see that their privacy policy collects as little data as possible and that a respected third party has audited their policy to make sure it's really implemented on the ground floor. Safety also means security, so I have to make sure each provider I recommend is using secure VPN protocols and each security-focused tool, such as a kill switch, does what it says on the tin by putting it through hands-on testing.
