They were fan favourites when they appeared on the Block 14 years ago.

And now Kyal and Kara Demmrich, both 36, have revealed what they did with their incredible prize money.

The married couple came third in season eight of the hit renovation show after their home went under the hammer for a whopping $2.440million.

Known as the 'Super K's' the love birds from the Central Coast pocketed $567,250, which they spent instantly.

'The day that money hit our account we bought a new house, another project. We just kept going from there' Kara told Nine .

'It's all well and good to have a passion, but the fact of the matter is if you want to buy and sell property, having cash behind you is everything'.

Kyal said that since appearing on the show, the couple have started their own renovation business.

'Life has changed for us dramatically since The Block, and we never though it would change to the extant that it has' he said.

Carpenter Kyal and designer Kara have worked steadily as home renovators since appearing on The Block in 2014, and have completely madeover close to 40 houses.

Their time on The Block was a smashing success with the pair regularly scoring ahead of their rivals.

And though they were tipped to win Kyal and Kara came third behind Steve and Chantelle and Alisa and Lysandra.

Still, the couple - who have been married for almost a decade - did not look back and continued 'house flipping' and making occasional TV appearances.

They live with their two children - Ziya and Vada - in a stunning property in Bateau Bay called the Blue Lagoon House, just 3km from Toowoon Bay.

Earlier this year they made headlines after putting their luxury duplex on the market for an eye-watering $5million.

The two sprawling properties on the Central Coast of New South Wales are set to go under the hammer at auction on the same day at the end of June.

Located on the famed holiday cost of Long Jetty, 105kms from Sydney, each home of the duplex has been listed with a price guide of $2.5million.
