The Count's Halloween Spooktacular Is Back At Sesame Place San Diego The Count's Halloween Spooktacular will feature a costume parade​, dance party, scarecrow scavenger hunt​, trick-or-treating and more.

CHULA VISTA, CA — Trick-or-treating and other fall festivities kick off this weekend at Sesame Place San Diego.

The Count's Halloween Spooktacular returns Saturday to Sesame Place San Diego , the only theme park on the West Coast based on the award-winning children's show. The family-friendly event will take place on weekends from Sept. 14 through Nov. 3.

The Count's Halloween Spooktacular will feature a costume parade, dance party, scarecrow scavenger hunt, trick-or-treating and more at the Chula Vista-based park. Also, for a limited time, children ages 3 to 9 can visit the park for free with a paid adult ticket.

Check out this year's lineup for The Count's Halloween Spooktacular:

  • Trick-or-Treating: Trick-or-treat stations will be scattered throughout the park.
  • Halloween Costume Parade: Kids and families can show off their costumes daily at Abby's Garden. Participants will receive a special gift.
  • Sesame Scarecrow Scavenger Hunt: Pick up a free scavenger hunt sheet at Guest Services and find all the scarecrows in the park. Complete the scavenger hunt to receive a prize.
  • Countdown to Halloween: Watch Count von Count and his friends Elmo, Abby Cadabby, Telly and Zoe embark on a quest for friendship in daily shows at the Sesame Street Theater.
  • Spot-the-Ghost Scavenger Hunt: Purchase a map to find friendly ghosts and win a prize.
  • Furry Friends Halloween Dance Party: Dance with Sesame Street characters to Halloween tunes.
  • Halloween Storytime: Join a Sesame Street friend for a reading of "Pumpkin Patch Party."
  • Sesame Street Halloween Cavalcade: The parade will feature floats decked out for the season, music and performances.
  • Halloween Costume Contest: Costume contests will take place on Oct. 28 and 29 with prizes awarded for the first-, second-, and third-place costumes in both the "Best Child" and "Best Family" categories.
  • Photo Opportunities: Photo opportunities with Sesame Street characters in Halloween costumes will be available at Photos with Elmo & Friends and in the Sesame Street Neighborhood.
