The John Fornetti Dental Center offers veterans free services

IRON MOUNTAIN, Mich. (WLUC) - An Iron Mountain dental office provided free services for veterans on Saturday.

The John Fornetti Dental Center crew arrived at 5:45 a.m. on Saturday to see a couple of veterans already lined up for the Dentistry for Our Vets event.

The office has been hosting the event on the Saturday before Veterans Day for 10 years. Veterans come from around Michigan and Wisconsin to choose between free teeth cleaning or an extraction or filling.

Sara Wentzel, John Fornetti Dental Office marketing and recruitment director, said a lot of people don't know that many veterans simply don't qualify for benefits.

"So, with the fact that so many veterans don't qualify for benefits, it's so important that we do things like this because it's just a great way to show love from the community, our chance to give back for all that they've given us, and you know that's what we're all about - giving people hope," Wentzel said.

If any veterans missed out this year, the John Fornetti Dental Office is hosting a day of free dental care for the public on Feb. 9, 2025.
