Friday, Oct. 18 — 4 to 5 p.m.— Tween Anime Club at Columbus Public Library's Creativity Corner. Tweens in grades 5-8 are welcome to watch anime and enjoy snacks.

Saturday, Oct. 19 — 10:30 a.m. to noon — Super Sensational Saturdays at Columbus Public Library. Children are invited to make three different crafts in the children's area and the Creativity Corner. The craft in the Creativity Corner will be food related.

Sunday, Oct. 20 — 11 a.m.. to 1:30 p.m. — St. John's Oktoberfest German Dinner at St. John's Lutheran Church and School, 39452 205th Ave., in Columbus. The menu will include bratwurst, German meatballs, eisbein and sauerkraut, hot German potato salad and more. For more information, call St. John's Lutheran Church office at 402-285-0335.

Sunday, Oct. 20 — 3. to 5 p.m. — Pumpkin Carving Contest at Frankfort Square in Columbus. The cost is $5 per pumpkin. All materials will be provided. Judging will start at 4:30 p.m. and awards will be given in five different categories. The last day to register is Oct. 16.

Monday, Oct. 21 — 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. — B&B Design Girls fall fundraiser in Columbus Community Hospital's first-floor conference center. The event will feature a large selection of customized gifts. All proceeds from the fundraiser will be combined with other fundraising efforts to assist in the purchase of a QuantaFlo PAD for Columbus Cardiology Clinic.

Tuesday, Oct. 22 — 4 to 7 p.m. — Transylvania Takeover: Halloween Carnival at the Columbus Area Children's Museum. The will be spooky games, creepy crafts, sweet treats and costume contests. Admission for ages 1-18 is $6 for members and $8 for non-members.

Tuesday, Oct. 22 — 5 to 9 p.m. — Free movie night at the Columbus Fieldhouse. "Casper" will be shown at 5 p.m. with "Monster House" immediately following. The movies will be shown on the Columbus Fieldhouse big screen with seating on the fieldhouse sit/stairs. Concessions will be available. Costumes are encouraged.

Wednesday, Oct. 23 — 4 to 5 p.m. — Wacky Wednesday at Columbus Public Library. Teens are invited to enjoy creating and learning.

Wednesday, Oct. 23 — 5 to 7 p.m. — Emerald's Spooktacular Halloween Trunk or Treat at Emerald Nursing & Rehab, 3912 27th St., in Columbus. The event will include a kid friendly haunted hallway, indoor/outdoor trunk or treat, cookies, apple cider, a pumpkin patch and vendors. Emerald's residents also will be handing out trinkets. There will be many photography opportunities. The event is free and open to the public.

Thursday, Oct. 24 — 8 a.m. until gone — Autumn Bake Sale outside of Columbus Community Hospital's Prairie Wind Cafe. The bake sale will feature a variety of homemade, Autumn-themed threats. All of the proceeds will support the purchase of a QuantaFlo PAD screening device for Columbus Cardiology Clinic.

Thursday, Oct.24 — 10:30 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 3 p.m.— StoryArt at Columbus Public Library's Children's Room. StoryArt is designed for young children and their families. Each session consists of a 30-minute storybook reading followed by an art craft and playtime. Snacks are provided.

Thursday, Oct. 24 — 5 to 7 p.m. — City of Columbus & Friends Trunk-or-Treat at the Columbus Community Building's east public parking lot. Several area businesses throughout the Trackside District-Downtown Columbus also are planning to hand candy out at their storefronts.

Thursday, Oct. 24 — 5:30 p.m. — Central Community College Fine Arts Department presents "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at Frankfort Square in Columbus. Magic, laughter and love are on the loose in the woods outside Athens in Shakespeare's pastoral comedy. Audience members should bring their own chair.

Thursday, Oct. 24 — 6:30 to 7:45 p.m.— Adult Book Club on the second floor in the FNBO Conference Room. Books for the current month may be picked up from the display table in front of the library's first-floor service desk.

Thursday, Oct. 24 — 4 to 6 p.m.— Trunk or Treat at Granville Custom Homes & Berkshire Hathaway Homeservices Ambassador Real Estate, 2412 23rd St., in Columbus. The event will feature free candy and fun for the whole family.

Friday, Oct. 25 — 4 to 5 p.m. — YA Anime Club at Columbus Public Library's Creativity Corner. Young adults in grades 9-12 are welcome to watch anime and enjoy snacks.

Friday, Oct. 25 — 5 to 6:30 p.m. — Trick or Treat in downtown Humphrey. Kids are invited to trick or treat at local businesses. At 7 p.m., the Humphrey Public FCCLA chapter will be hosting a Halloween movie night featuring "Hocus Pocus" at the Humphrey Public School Gym. Popcorn and drinks will be provided. Attendees should bring pillows and blankets to sit on. There also will be a costume contest. Doors will open at 6:45 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 26 — 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Electronics recycling event at the NPPD parking lot, 1414 15th St., in Columbus. Members of the public are encouraged to bring their used or broken electronics to be recycled properly. Items that will be accepted are computers, printers, TVs, scanners, phones, fax machines, VCRs, radio equipment, etc. Fee apple to CRT monitors and TVs ($10 under 19 inches and $20 over 20 inches). Join origami artist, author and illustrator Linda Stephen to explore origami and the possibilities of paper. This program is designed for adults and youth ages 12 and over. Registration for this event will close at noon on Oct. 26.

Tuesday, Oct. 29 — 6 to 8 p.m. — Trunk or Treat at Parkway Plaza, 4471 41st Ave., in Columbus. There will be games, trunks, treats and a movie.

Wednesday, Oct. 30 — 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. — Trunk or Treat at Peace Lutheran Church's north parking lot off of Kummer Drive in Columbus. The public is invited to attend. In the event of inclement weather, the free event will be held inside the fellowship hall.

Thursday, Oct. 31 — 10:30 a.m. to noon, and 1:30 to 3 p.m. — Storytime: at Columbus Public Library's Children's Room. Storytime is designed for young children and their families. Each session consists of a 30-minute storybook reading followed by playtime, and each participant leaves with a balloon animal. Snacks are provided.

Thursday, Oct. 31 — 5 to 6 p.m. — Trunk or Treat at Columbus High School. Visitor parking is located in the east lot at Columbus High School.
