This weekend is jam-packed with holiday events, concerts and more

• Cirque Du Soleil: Corteo, 7:30 p.m., CHI Health Center Omaha. Tickets are available online at ticketmaster.com .

• Opening of “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer,” 7 p.m., The Rose Theater, 2001 Farnam St., Omaha. The production, which will continue through Dec. 23, is based on the animated television special. The expected run time of this puppet-filled musical is 90 minutes plus an intermission. Tickets are $37 on the main floor and $32 in the balcony. • Opening of “The Art of LEGO” exhibit, 1-4 p.m., Gallery 92 West, 92 W. Sixth St., Fremont. Displays for the exhibit have been provided by the Lincoln and Omaha LEGO User Group and Keene Memorial Library’s LEGO Club and families. The exhibit will be on display through Dec. 28. Admission is free.

• 2nd Annual Wahoo Winterfest, 2-8 p.m., Saunders County Fairgrounds, 635 E. First St., Wahoo. The event will feature crafters, artisans, refurbishers, artists, antiques, up-cyclers, food, live music, beer garden and more.

• Fremont Eagles Club open, 3 p.m. to midnight, 649 N. Main St., Fremont. The club may stay open later or close early depending on business. The kitchen will be open from 5:30-7 p.m. The menu will include catfish, shrimp, wings, chicken tenders, hamburgers and cheeseburgers, appetizers, baked potatoes, french fries, onion rings and salad. Everyone is welcome.

• Holiday Cultural Festival, 4-9 p.m., The Durham Museum, Omaha. Visitors will learn how the world celebrates this joyful time of year. Local cultural organizations will display their crafts and traditional dress, while musicians and dancers perform throughout the evening. Ethnic foods and gifts will be available for purchase.

• Artists’ Spotlight Opening Reception, 5-7 p.m., Gallery 92 West, 92 W. Sixth St., Fremont. The reception is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.

• Live music by Bakersfield, 7-11 p.m., Fremont Eagles Club main floor. The cover charge is $3. Everyone is welcome.

• Magician Ryan Chandler: The Sound of Magic, 3 p.m., Kountze Memorial Theater, Eugene T. Mahoney State Park, near Ashland. Attendees will witness sleight of hand, sleight of sound and sleight of mind. The all-ages show runs about one hour long with a 10-minute intermission. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under. Ticket reservations can be made by calling 402-944-3918. A valid park entry permit is required per vehicle.

• St. Pat’s Women Annual Christmas Bazaar, 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., St. Patrick Catholic Church, 3400 E. 16th St., Fremont. The bazaar will feature a coffee shop with homemade cinnamon rolls, baked goods and candy, Christmas Shoppe, raffle tickets for holiday items, and a roast pork loin lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

• 45th Annual Fremont Parks and Recreation Craft Show, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Christensen Field, 1710 W. 16th St., Fremont. The show will include numerous vendors and concessions. Admission is $1 which goes to the Fremont Friendship Center.

• 79th Annual Holiday Bazaar, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., First Congregational Church, 1550 N. Broad St., Fremont. The event will include coffee and cinnamon rolls, vendors, silent auction items, Book Nook, and Santa’s Attic holiday store. Cookies will be sold by the pound. Ham loaf and chicken salad lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pie will be available by the slice.

• 31st Annual Christmas Cookie and Candy Boutique, 9-11 a.m. (or until gone), St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 300 S. Second St., Cedar Bluffs. A large selection of Christmas cookies and candy will be sold for $8 per pound. Free coffee and cookies will be served, compliments of the church’s Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.

• Nerdmas – A craft show for nerds, geeks, and gamers, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Liberty First Credit Union Arena, Ralston. More than 30 vendors will offer strange and nerdy things. Vendors include those you can find at Renaissance festivals, pirate festivals, Potter festivals, oddities events and game conventions. Admission is free.

• 2023 Physicians Mutual Holiday Market, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Aksarben Village, Omaha. The market will include local vendors, food and beverages from Benson Brewery. Admission is free.

Winter Wonderland, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., 5 County Fitness, 714 N. Main St., North Bend. The event will feature a bonfire and S’mores, hot chocolate, cinnamon rolls, take home chili and festive goats to pet and feed.

Hot Shops Winter Open House, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Hot Shops Art Center, 1301 Nicholas St., Omaha. Guests can visit artists in their studios, learn about their tools and processes, and see demonstrations. Admission is a $5 donation.

Fremont Eagles Club open, noon to midnight, 649 N. Main St., Fremont. The club may stay open later or close early depending on business. There will be a Sons of the American Legion meal at 6 p.m. and line dancing at 6:30 p.m.

Christmas on the Prairie: Christmas in Toyland, 1-5 p.m., Saunders County Museum, 204 N. Walnut St., Wahoo. The event will include rope making, outdoor demonstrations, crafts, model trains, special stamps, lacemaking demonstrations, quilts, a silent auction, bake sale, and programs at 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Spaghetti Feed/Auction Fundraiser for Shawn Bosselmann, 4-7 p.m., Fremont Eagles Club, 649 N. Main St., Fremont. Dinner will be served from 4-7 p.m. A $15 donation for the meal is requested. There will be a live and silent auction as well as raffles at about 7:30 p.m. Bosselmann is fighting stage 4 metastatic melanoma. All proceeds will assist Bosselmann and his family.

Mead Hometown Holidays, 4-6:30 p.m., Mead Fire Hall and downtown Mead. The afternoon will begin with activities, treats, refreshments and a visit from Santa Claus at the Mead Fire Hall. Everyone can then meet in downtown Mead for the Mead Fire Department Snowball Drop and the lighting ceremony of the village Christmas tree.

Village of Dodge Winter Festival, 6 p.m., Village Square, Vet’s Club and Fire Station, Dodge. The event will include a tree lighting, Santa visits and photos, craft making, S’mores bar, cookie decorating, hot chocolate, nativity animals, sleigh rides, kiddie train rides and kettle corn. A soup supper will be served immediately after the tree lighting until 8 p.m. A meal includes a bowl of chili or chicken noodle soup, chicken salad or egg salad sandwich, and cinnamon roll. Extras are a hot dog and chips. A kid’s meal will be a hot dog, chips, drink and Rice Krispy treat.

Colors of Christmas concert, 2 p.m., Wikert Event Center, Midland University campus, Fremont. The Midland University Arts Department will be celebrating the holidays at this free concert which is open to the public. The program will feature the Blue Notes, Midland University Dance Program, Clef Dwellers, the Midland University Band, and the Midland University Chorus. The Pathfinders Chorus of Fremont also will join the program.

Arlington Volunteer Fire Department Pancake Feed, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Arlington Auditorium. Cost is a freewill donation. Santa will arrive at 11 a.m.

Waffles with Santa and the Waffleman, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Snyder Firemen’s Ballroom. All-you-can-eat Belgian waffles with different flavored syrups and whipped cream will be served for a freewill donation along with sausage and eggs. Bloody Mary cocktails also will be served. Christmas cookie platters will be sold. Santa will be at the event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All proceeds go to the Snyder Community Foundation.

Holiday Lights Festival: KETV Family Festival, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., downtown Omaha. Everyone is welcome for a festive day full of activities at downtown Omaha attractions, including Omaha Children’s Museum, The RiverFront, Omaha Police Mounted Patrol Barn, The Durham Museum, and Downtown YMCA. Ollie the Trolley will provide free transportation among the venues. Admission is free.

Christmas Extravaganza, 5-7 p.m., Hooper Auditorium. The event, sponsored by Chain of Friends – Hooper, will include soup, hot chocolate, storytelling, hayrack rides, cookie decorating and more. There will also be a parade of trees/trees contest. Santa Claus also will be stopping by the event.

The luncheon will include a preview of “Elf, The Musical” presented by Fremont Opera House. It features local talent directed by Lee Meyer. Cost of the luncheon is $15 per person. Soup with Santa, 6-8 p.m., Weston Volunteer Fire Department, Weston. Soup and desserts will be served from 6-8 p.m. Santa will be stopping by from 6:30-7:30 p.m. There will be a live raffle at 7:30 p.m. Freewill donations will help support the purchase of supplies and equipment needed by the department’s newly licensed EMRs.
