AUBURN - Thomas C. Eisenschmidt, 73, Auburn, NY, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2024 in the presence of his loving family.

He was a devoted husband, of 39 years, to his loving wife, Jeanne (Ferro) Eisenschmidt, a proud father to sons: Josh (Maria Giacona) and Joel Eisenschmidt; and a loving grandfather to: Victoria "Tori" and Carmine Eisenschmidt.

Tom built a distinguished career in corrections, dedicating over 30 years to the field. He rose swiftly through the security ranks, excelling in promotional exams and earning respect among his peers. Known for his expertise, Tom was a highly regarded instructor and mentor, with many seeking his counsel even after his retirement as Superintendent from Five Points Correctional Facility in 2001. Tom also served as Superintendent at Gouverneur and Willard Correctional Facilities and was a proud member of the Correctional Emergency Response Team (CERT).

Following his career, Thomas remained driven by his sense of duty, working for the Department of Justice as a Certified Auditor.

Despite his professional accomplishments, Thomas's greatest joy was his family. He treasured every moment spent with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren, Tori and Carmine, who were the light of his life. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the love he shared with those around him.

Tom was predeceased by his father and mother, William and Eleanor (Hayden) Eisenschmidt, and his brother, William "Billy" Eisenschmidt. He is survived by his siblings: Denise and Tony Bellerdine, John and Patty Eisenschmidt, George and Cate Eisenschmidt, Eric and Nicole Eisenschmidt, Pam Testa (Billy Eisenschmidt); and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours for family and friends will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 90 Melrose Rd., Auburn NY. A memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024, Sacred Heart Church. With Reverend Michael Brown and Reverend James Enright as Celebrants.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tom's honor to Hope Lodge, (New York City Chapter). New York City Hope Lodge | American Cancer Society.
