Thousands of Coloradans register to vote heading into Election Day
DENVER ( KDVR ) — People are heading to the polls for Election Day, but as of Tuesday morning, the majority of registered voters in Colorado already voted.
Over half of the registered voters in Colorado returned their ballots early. By the end of Nov. 3, the Colorado Secretary of State said that 2,092,035 people returned their ballots , marking over half the 4,027,830 active voters in Colorado at the time.

A little over a day later, another half a million voters returned their ballots, while tens of thousands of people continued to register to vote.
By Nov. 5 at 9 a.m., the Colorado Secretary of State said 2,507,472 ballots were returned . This marks the majority of registered voters in Colorado, which has also increased by over 20,000 people since Nov. 4.
So far, the majority of votes were mail-in ballots with around 2.3 million ballots, while there were almost 130,000 in-person voters.
Over half of Denver's active voters cast their ballots early
Among those voters who returned their ballots before Nov. 5, 43.14% were registered unaffiliated voters, 28.43% were registered Democrats and 26.81% were registered Republicans.
The age group that returned the most ballots so far lies within 65 to 74 years old, which accounts for almost 18% of the voters. Meanwhile, people who are 55 to 64 make up the second-highest voter turnout so far, making up for just over 17% of the votes.
There's still time to register to vote in Colorado , which can be done on Election Day. Polls close at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, but make sure you know your voting rights , as you can still vote if you're in line by 7 p.m.
