‘Threatening’ Eagles fans sent Bills players over the edge after Sunday’s loss

Losing the way the Buffalo Bills did was painful enough — surrendering a miraculous last-second 59-yard field goal in a driving rainstorm, then a clinching touchdown by Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts in overtime.

In the end, enduring alleged taunts and threats from Eagles fans on top of that was too much, so defensive end Shaq Lawson and other Bills players angrily confronted Philly fans during the 37-34 overtime loss to the Eagles at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.

On Monday, Lawson is apologized after a video was shared on social media of him and other defensive linemen exchanging words and apparently shoving one fan.

“Those of you who know me know that I’m all about the fans, and I have a lot of respect for the game I play and my opponents,” Lawson wrote on Instagram on Monday. “Before the game started yesterday, there was a fan behind our bench, who was making life threatening remarks towards us and our families. We asked Philadelphia security to remove the fan, but he was allowed to stay for the entire game. Eventually, our emotions boiled over, and I made a mistake. For that, I apologize, but there are certain lines that should not be crossed.”
