The 5-5 Bengals suffered a devastating loss to arch-rivals Baltimore in Week 11. While the on-the-field defeat was palpably detrimental to their postseason aspirations, it pales in comparison to losing Joe Burrow for the remainder of the season.

It’s not an indictment of rookie quarterback Jake Browning, who takes over in Burrow’s absence. However, the Bengals go as far as their all-world pivot. Unlike the Browns, the Bengals’ defense isn’t good enough to cover the irreparable void Burrow’s wrist injury left.

The Bengals require three victories in their remaining seven contests to hit the over. They play the Steelers twice, the Jaguars in Jacksonville, the Colts at home, the Vikings at home, the Chiefs in Kansas City, and the Browns at home. The Bengals should earn a split against the Steelers and, quite possibly, a victory over the Colts.

The other contests are against teams that are currently playoff-bound, providing tasks too tall for a team devoid of confidence and momentum, which is now wholly reliant on a raw pivot who is greener than the turf they play on.

One of the hottest teams in the NFL, the Vikings are rolling under the stewardship of Josh Dobbs. The Vikings require three wins in their remaining six games, which shouldn’t be an issue for a team that has won five of their previous six.

The Vikings play the Bears, Lions, and Packers at home while facing the Raiders, Bengals, and Lions on the road. Even if they lose both to the Lions, the Vikings should win three of four against the Bears, Raiders, Bengals, and Packers.

The 7-3 Miami Dolphins are in prime position to secure a home playoff game, an immeasurably important component to their Super Bowl aspirations. The Dolphins are 5-0 at Hard Rock Stadium and will feel confident about beating any team in their barn.

But first, Mike McDaniel’s team must handle their business.

The Dolphins’ 2-3 road record is disconcerting, but forthcoming games against the Jets and Commanders should restore the team’s on-the-road confidence. Those two must-win contests should put their total at nine triumphs.

That will leave the Dolphins requiring three wins from their final five games, four of which, including the Jets and Titans, occur at Hard Rock Stadium. If they beat the Jets and Titans, they’ll need one win from the three games against the Cowboys, Ravens, and Bills.
