DETROIT — Detroit pitchers Beau Brieske and Brant Hurter are throwing a combined perfect game through six innings against the Baltimore Orioles, and the Tigers led 1-0 on Friday night.

Brieske, a 26-year-old right-hander, was planned to start as an opener and retired four batters while throwing 11 of 16 pitches for strikes.

Hunter, a 26-year-old rookie left-hander, started his first 14 batters with strikes. He struck out seven through 4 2/3 innings while throwing 40 of 50 pitches for strikes.

Nelly Korda danced at the urging of teammate Megan Khang as they walked off the first tee together at the Solheim Cup after a pep talk from former President Barack Obama. Then she let Khang raise her arms to pump up the crowd as they walked to the 12th green following another sterling shot from the world's top-ranked player.
