Tigers rout Black Knights

TUNKHANNOCK — Ryan Weiss tossed a three-hit shutout as the Tigers blanked Lake-Lehman 10-0 in six innings.

Sean Soltysiak led Tunkhannock with three hits and three RBIs.

Austin Burke was the other Tiger player with multiple RBI with two.

COLLEGE BASEBALL

King’s 7, Wilkes 1

The Monarchs put up four runs in the ninth to secure the victory over Wilkes as Steven Heck pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits on one run. Stephen Ruch’s RBI single was the lone run for the Colonels.

COLLEGE SOFTBALL

Cougars drop two

The Cougars lost both games to FDU-Florham by scores of 4-1 and 11-2.

Kristi Seiler and Melissa Parker both had two hits in the first game while Megan Hardy had an RBI double in game two.

MEN’S TENNIS

Wilkes 9, Eastern 0

The Colonels continued their unbeaten streak as Brendon Blachowski and Michael Kranz each had a win in singles.

Stevenson 8, Misericordia 1

Tony Goodall had the lone win for the Cougars in their loss to Stevenson.

King’s 8, FDU-Florham 1

King’s stayed unbeaten in Freedom Conference play as Chris DiMino and Ryan Hurdes each grabbed a win in singles.

WOMEN’S TENNIS

Wilkes 8, Eastern 1

Wilkes stayed perfect in Freedom Conference play paced by singles wins from Ana English and Taylor Hoffman.

Misericordia 8, Stevenson 1

The Cougars used four double-winners to beat Stevenson on Saturday.

MEN’S TRACK AND FIELD

Hause wins a pair for Misericordia

Mikeal Hause won the 800 and 1500 for the Cougars at Susquehanna University on Saturday, while Andrew Nelson recorded a victory in the 400.

WOMEN’S TRACK AND FIELD

Viti leads the Cougars

Amy Viti qualified for the ECAC Championships by winning the 200 and 400 at the Jim Taylor Invitational at Susquehanna. Hilari Norris won the 100 hurdles while Bianca Bolton took the 1500.

Wallenpaupack hosted the Ice Breaker Relays on Saturday.

The Pittston Area boys had three runner-up finishes in the 400 relay, 1600 relay, and 3200 relay.

On the girls side, Pittston Area won the 32oo relay and distance 8-4-4-12.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Danville 14, Lake-Lehman 7

Lake Lehman’s Alysa Adams had three goals as the Black Knights fell to Danville.

Hannah Stull, Alexis Barker, Courtney Thomas, and Katie Strohl all had one goal apiece for Lake-Lehman.

Scranton Prep 8, Tunkhannock 4

The Tigers trailed 3-2 at half-time, but it was not enough as Scranton Prep defeated Tunkhannock.
