Time to get spooky in the Lake Geneva area this Halloween

Party ghouls, candy fiends and all those creatures in between: Here's what's happening this Halloween.

The following list compiles some of the events in the Lake Geneva area celebrating the holiday from this weekend up to Halloween itself — Thursday, Oct. 31.

Trick or Treat Trains — Friday, Oct. 25, 5 p.m., East Troy Depot, 2002 Church St., East Troy. East Troy Railroad Museum has trains heading from the Depot to Town Hall Park, where children can trick-or-treat, play games and enjoy the playground before the train heads back to East Troy. Total experience lasts about an hour and 20 minutes. Tickets range from $9-26. Note: As of this writing, limited seats were available for the train departing at 5 p.m. The 6 p.m. train was sold out. Holiday Home Camp Haunted House — Oct. 25, 6:30 p.m., 100 Holiday Home Camp Road, Williams Bay. Eerie sounds, ghostly apparitions and thrills around every corner at this Holiday Home Camp fundraiser. Photo booth, concessions, trick-or-treating and more. Gates, family-friendly haunted house and trick-or-treating open 6:30 p.m., haunted house starts 7:30 p.m. Rates for family-friendly activities $1 for parents, $5 for ages 12 and younger. Beer & Spirits Festival — Saturday, Oct. 26, 1-5 p.m., The Ridge Hotel, W4240 Highway 50, town of Geneva. Craft beers, seltzers and spirits from over 50 renowned Midwest distilleries and breweries, plus music by DJ Felix Entertainment, a photo booth, Halloween costume contest and more. Ages 21 and over only. General admission $60. VIP admission, allowing access to the party an hour early, an event souvenir and the ability to try three exclusive beers, $85. Go to lgbeerfest.com .

Halloween in the town of Lyons — Oct. 26. Trick-or-treat 2-4 p.m. Halloween party 4-6 p.m., with cupcake decorating, costume judging, crafts, candy corn bingo, tattoo bar and free goodie bags for children. Halloween Boat Bash — Oct. 26, 6:30-9 p.m., Lake Lawn Resort, 2400 E. Geneva St., Delavan. Cruse Delavan Lake on the Lake Lawn Queen at this adults-only affair, with a DJ, costume contest, complimentary cocktails and more. For ages 21 and older. Tickets $50, includes the Monster Mash Adult Halloween Party (see below). Go to lakelawnresort.com .

Monster Mash Adult Halloween Party — Oct. 26, 8:15-11:30 p.m., Geneva Ballroom at Lake Lawn Resort. Rock music courtesy of The Hair Band Night, plus a costume contest, treats, craft beverages and more at this 21-and-over party. Cost is $25 per adult for just the party, or $50 for the party and the Halloween Boat Bash. Go to lakelawnresort.com .

Halloween Party — Oct. 26, 9 p.m.-2:30 a.m., Thumbs Up, 260 Broad St., Lake Geneva. Drink specials, music by DJ Jones.

Family Halloween Party — Sunday, Oct. 27, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m., Lake Lawn Resort. A Lake Lawn Queen tour of Delavan Lake with entertainment by magician/musician Mr. Pickles, a costume contest, food, beverages and more. Cost $40 adults, $15 ages 4-12, free for ages 3 and younger. Trunk or Treat 2024 — Oct. 27, 1-5 p.m., Lake City Social, 111 Center St., Lake Geneva. Candy Craze, face painting, strolling magician, live music, local business booths, an Old Fashioned Cocktail & Beer Bar for adults and more at this free-to-attend event by the Lake Geneva Jaycees.

Trunk or Treat — Oct. 27, 3-5 p.m., First Lutheran Church and School, 1101 Logan St., Lake Geneva.

Halloween Party — Oct. 27, 3-5 p.m., Waters Edge, 1220 South Shore Drive, town of Delavan. All ages, open to town residents and nonresidents alike. Go to townofdelavan.com .

Halloween Party 2024 — Thursday, Oct. 31, 8:30 p.m.-midnight, Baker House, 327 Wrigley Drive, Lake Geneva. Costume contest, signature brews and concoctions and music spun like a spider's web by the Baker House DJ. No cover. Go to bakerhouse1885.com or call 262-248-4700.
