KINGSTON: Wyoming Seminary Upper School is hosting an open house from 1-4 p.m. on Dec. 7. The event will feature campus tours, a presentation on the school’s academics, arts, athletics and activities, opportunities to meet faculty and students and information on admission and affordability.

Visitors should convene in the Kirby Library on the second floor of the Stettler Learning Resources Center on North Sprague Avenue, Kingston.

NANTICOKE: The Greater Nanticoke Area High School Interact Club is holding a Polio Walk at 1 p.m. on Dec. 1 at the Greater Nanticoke Area High School campus. Monetary donations will be greatly appreciated.

WILKES-BARRE TWP.: Kids to Kids, an international organization run by kids for kids, is holding its inaugural holiday fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Dec. 7 at the Wilkes-Barre Township Fire Hall, Watson Street. The event will include the sale of gently used toys and a new toy and gift card raffle to benefit needy children in the country of Nepal. All proceeds will go towards the construction of a new school building for children in one of Nepal’s poorest regions.

The organization also hopes to provide local families with an opportunity to purchase toys for the holidays at a great price and for a great cause. Any unsold donations will be picked up by the Wilkes-Barre Salvation Army.

Donations, including children’s books and toys for all ages, are needed. Donations will be accepted until Dec. 5 and can be made at:

• Wilkes-Barre Township Municipal Building, Watson Street, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday.

• Bear Creek Municipal Building, Route 115, Bear Creek, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday to Friday; 4-8 p.m. Wednesday; and 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

• Kingston Recreation Center, 655 Third Ave., Kingston, 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday to Friday; 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday.

Any business, organization or individual who would like to donate a new toy, a new toy basket, or a gift card, can leave it at one of the above donation sites with the name or business name. To make arrangements for a large toy pick up, call 570-825-2504.
