WILKES-BARRE: The Osterhout Free Library, 71 S. Franklin St., is offering a series of computer classes. The first class, Introduction to Microsoft Office, will be held from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, May 16. The second class, Introduction to Microsoft Word, will take place from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 13. Participants will learn to create basic documents. The final class, Introduction to Microsoft Excel, will be held from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 20. Participants will learn to create basic spreadsheets.

A $5 deposit is needed to hold a place in the class. The deposit will be refunded to those that attend two of the three classes. All participants must attend the class on May 16. No space can be held until the $5 deposit is received. Participants must know how to use a keyboard and mouse or touchscreen and must have email accounts that the students know how to access. The email addresses are needed at registration. Registration can be done at the library.

WILKES-BARRE: The Wyoming Valley Woman’s Club will hold its last luncheon meeting of the fiscal year on Tuesday, May 12, at the Genetti Hotel and Conference Center.

This year’s “Woman of the Year” will be announced and honored during the luncheon. Dues for the 2015-2016 may be paid.

WILKES-BARRE: The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) of The Luzerne Foundation recently awarded $16,000 in grants to area nonprofit organizations. The grant recipients are: $5,000 to Children’s Service Center for the Music Intervention Program; $5,000 to Ruth’s Place for staff and program enhancements; $3,000 to Cori’s Place for the Mind and Body Program; and $3,000 to the United Way of Wyoming Valley for the Success Before 6 Program. More information will be available at The Luzerne Foundation’s annual meeting and reception to be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, at the F.M. Kirby Center, Wilkes-Barre.
