Joan Maiers, of Carey Avenue, Wilkes-Barre, died Monday at the Hospice Unit of Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.
Born on Dec. 7, 1930, in Hanover Township, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Catherine LeBaron Gardjulis. She was a graduate of Hanover High School, Class of 1949.
She was formerly employed in the dietary department of Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre, for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Maiers; son Eugene Jr.; sister Marcella Gardjulis; and brother Charles LeBaron.
Surviving are her daughters, Joan and her husband, Joseph Cole, Berlin, N.J.; Donna Baldrica, Wilkes-Barre; Linda Knox, Wilkes-Barre; son Hugh Maiers, Wilkes-Barre; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. from Mamary-Durkin Funeral Services, 59 Parrish St., Wilkes-Barre. Interment will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.
