ASHLEY: The American Red Cross Donor Center locations in Wilkes-Barre and Scranton will be open on Easter Sunday, April 20, for platelet donations.
The Wilkes-Barre Donor Center, 29 New Commerce Blvd., Ashley, will be open from 7:30 a.m. to noon.
The Scranton Donor Center, 3 W. Olive St., Scranton, will be open from 8 a.m. to noon.
All presenting donors will be eligible for a chance to win a $50 Visa gift card. Prizes are not redeemable for cash and are not transferable.
If unable to donate at these times, another donation time can be scheduled by calling 1-800-733-2767 or visiting redcrossblood.org.
EXETER: The Exeter Community Ambulance Association is closing its membership drive on April 30. Anyone who has not submitted their membership should do so as soon as possible. Membership application forms are available from Lynda at the Exeter Borough Town Hall.
KINGSTON: All school employees who will be retiring in the next five years are invited to attend a pre-retirement seminar sponsored by the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR) on April 26 at LIU 18, 368 Tioga Avenue.
The session will begin at 8:30 a.m. and conclude around noon. The cost is $6 and includes coffee, doughnuts and lunch.
A PSERS representative will give the “Foundations for the Future” retirement planning presentation and answer any questions. Other presenters include a financial planner and a representative from Professional Insurance Services Incorporated who will speak on dental, vision and long-term care insurance. Social Security and health insurance options information will also be available.
