DALLAS: The American Red Cross will conduct a blood drive at the Irem Temple Country Club on Tuesday from 1 to 6 p.m. Blood supplies remain low and the community’s help is desperately needed.
The Red Cross requests that all donors bring identification and their Red Cross blood card. First-time donors will receive a card after their first donation. Anyone 17 years of age, weighing a minimum of 110 pounds and in good health is eligible to donate. A pre-scheduled appointment can be made to reduce the time needed for donating.

KINGSTON: The Church of Christ Uniting, Market Street and South Sprague Avenue, has the following Holy Week services:
Wednesday 4 at 7:30 a.m. there will be communion in the conference room followed by a prayer breakfast at Ollie’s Restaurant, Edwardsville; Maundy Thursday there will be a potluck dinner at 6 p.m. followed by the Seder at 6:45 p.m.; Good Friday there will be combined services at noon held at the Dorranceton Methodist Church, Wyoming Avenue; and Easter Sunday there will be 10 a.m. worship service. The community is welcome to attend Holy week services.
LAFLIN: All children coming to the Laflin Library during the week of April 2 through April 7 will receive a chocolate rabbit donated by Mr. Gary Sipe. Winners of the Library’s Easter egg contest will be notified on Wednesday. Easter eggs will be dyed on Saturday at 11 a.m.
LUZERNE COUNTY: The second annual Lt. Michael J. Cleary Memorial Golf Tournament will be held May 14 at the Wyoming Valley Country Club. All proceeds benefit the Lt. Michael J. Cleary Memorial Fund, which helps families who have been irrevocably affected by the injury or loss of a loved one in the military service and children with special needs.
Tee time is 12:15 p.m. A box lunch and gift bag will be provided at registration. Dinner will be served after the tournament. Prizes will be given for first-, second- and third-place in each flight. There will also be prizes awarded for a hole in one, closest to the pin and longest drive. A golf outing, which includes a putting contest of $2,500 and two additional chances for a hole in one with a cash prize of $100,000, is planned. Sponsors are needed. MOUNTAIN TOP: Graduating seniors of Crestwood High School, may pick up applications for the Ann E. Thomas Memorial Award at the Guidance Office.
The award will be presented at Senior Awards Night by the Nuangola Library Board of Directors. Entries must be received by May 12.
PITTSTON: The Pittston Township Recreation Board will hold its annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday at the Mount Carmel Church Hall, William Street. Festivities begin at noon.
All township children up to age 12 are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served and pictures will be taken with the Easter Bunny.
SWEET VALLEY: The Sweet Valley Volunteer Fire Co. announces its fundraising ham and beef dinners will be held accordingly: April 28, beef; May 12, ham; June 23, beef; July 28, ham; Aug. 25, beef; Sept. 22, ham; Oct. 27, beef; and Nov. 10, ham.
Dinners are family-style and all-you-can-eat, with the exception of dessert. Takeouts will be available starting at 4 p.m. Sit-down serving is from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. Cost is $8 for adults; $4 for children ages 6 to 11, and children younger than 6 are free.
WILKES-BARRE: Wyoming Valley Children’s Association will hold its 83rd annual meeting on April 11 at noon at The Ramada Inn, Public Square. Highlights of the luncheon meeting will include musical performances by children of the agency’s “Together We Grow” inclusive preschool as well as the presentation of the third annual Golden Apple Award for Volunteerism which honors outstanding volunteer contributions to the Children’s Association. The public is invited to attend. The Children’s Association is a private, nonprofit agency which provides therapeutic programs and services to children who have developmental and neurological disabilities, including speech delays. The agency is a member of the United Way of Wyoming Valley.
WILKES-BARRE: The Reginas of King’s College are sponsoring a trip to the King Tut exhibit at the Franklin Institute Science Museum in Philadelphia April 28. The cost of the trip is $68 and includes bus transportation, museum tour and dinner at Peppers in King of Prussia. Seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.

WILKES-BARRE: April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month. This year, the Victims Resource Center will participate in a statewide campaign called “Help Grow the Solution.” The campaign focuses on the idea that power can be beautiful — as in the form of a simple daisy. Throughout the month of April, the Victims Resource Center in conjunction with other members of the community will host various activities to help educate on the topic of sexual assault.
To kick off the month, on April 18 the Victims Resource Center will host the 28th annual Mock Rape Trial at 7 p.m. at the Luzerne County Courthouse. This annual event is held in cooperation with The Court of Common Pleas, The Office of the District Attorney, The Office of the Public Defender and the Luzerne County Sexual Assault Response Team.
The Victims Resource Center in cooperation with its community partners has scheduled the following events:
• On April 23, the Victims Resource Center staff, family, board members, volunteers and clients will participate in the annual Victims Rights Rally sponsored by the Coalition of Pennsylvania Crime Victims Organizations (COPCVO) at the state Capitol Building in Harrisburg. A bus will be provided by COPCVO to transport participants to the rally.
• From April 23 through April 27, The Shoe Project will be on display at Lehigh Carbon Community College, Nesquehoning.
• April 25 at 5:30 p.m., staff of the Victims Resource Center will present a program on Victims’ Rights at Lehigh Carbon Community College.
• The Shoe Project will also be on display during the same week at the Tunkhannock Public Library, 220 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock.
• On April 24 the Victims Resource Center, in conjunction with Wilkes University and King’s College, will sponsor a daylong Victims’ Rights observance. The Clothesline Project, the Blowing in the Wind Project and The Shoe Project will be on display at the Henry Center at Wilkes University from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. There will also be informational tables from the Victims Resource Center, the Luzerne County Sexual Assault Response Team, the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office and Parents of Murdered Children.
•A Victims’ Rights Rally will be held April 24 beginning at 5:15 p.m. with a march starting at Wilkes University Henry Center, West South Street. Participants will march to Public Square and meet King’s College students. The march will then continue around Public Square, down South Main Street to West South Street, and then back to Wilkes University Henry Center where there will be a rally featuring speakers from the community as well as victims of crime. Refreshments will be served.
