I’m calling in regards to Jean-Sebastien Aubin and his comments about his
teammates playing in front of him. There’s no doubt that players can have a
big effect on how the goalie performs, however, Jean-Sebastian has let in an
awful lot of very poor goals, goals that were clearly stoppable, they weren’t
rebound shots. That’s the difference in the play. He has let in a lot of poor
goals.

It’s December now, I wonder when the powers to be are going to tell us all
about their new northeastern football conference and who’s is what division.
Who’s playing where and who’s playing who, all that stuff. Check into it for
me will you?
Editor’s note: We are checking. The PIAA needs to release the enrollment
figures, and then the conference will meet to determine the divisions.

Here we go again with the complaining about the hockey fighting. With them
visiting the schools, you think it’s so bad for them to show support and pride
in the schools and get the kids to watch. Would you rather your kids be
watching hockey or would you rather have them watch those scantily clad
wrestling programs that are on Mondays and every other night of the week? I
think my kids will be watching hockey instead of that stuff.

This is in reference to Mr. Aubin’s comments about Wilkes-Barre and playing
Penguin hockey here. Tell him if he doesn’t like it here, don’t bother coming
here. We’re very happy with Mr. Weninger in the net.

The Penguins should play Weninger in goal and let Aubin, after his
comments, get bench splinters in his butt.

We finally got the Fox Sportsnet for Pittsburgh and we’re able to watch the
Pittsburgh Penguins. But ... I have heard announcers more exciting watching
curling. And this is hockey, the fastest game on earth. Go figure.

As a lifelong Notre Dame fan, I think it high time that Bob Davie be given
his walking papers. This team has not only gone down to the depths of the
gutter, they can’t win. They aren’t even invited to a bowl game this year and
now for the first time in school history, they’re going to be on probation.
It’s disgraceful, it’s disgusting and something should be done about Notre
Dame. They should be given a new head coach, Bob Davie should be fired right
now.

The Times Leader sports personnel are obvious in certain matters that I can
make a living betting on what they are going to do. I told a friend that when
the NCAA finalized the situation with Notre Dame, it would be at the top of
the sports section in big headlines. I won. The only times that happens is
when it is of a negative nature about Notre Dame. Anything positive is usually
buried somewhere.

I like “Let’s go Penguins, let’s go” better than “Let’s go Pens, let’s
go Pens.” At least it doesn’t sound like we’re cheering for a writing
utensil. Just because that’s the chant for the Pittsburgh Penguins doesn’t
mean it has to be the chant for the Wilkes-Barre Penguins. We are different
and the chant should be different.
