Dorothy M. Yeager, age 92, of Penn Lake Borough, formerly of Mountain Top,
passed away Friday, July 15, 2005, at Davis Manor Personal Care, Wright
Township.

She was born in Larksville on March 12, 1913, and was a daughter of the
late Thomas and Anna Jones Williams. She was a graduate of Hanover High
School, East Stroudsburg State College, and held a master’s equivalency from
Penn State University, and a special education diploma from Marywood College.
She had completed graduate coursework at College Misericordia.

Mrs. Yeager was a school teacher and taught for 37 years. She taught in the
Hanover Township and Dallas school districts before her last position in the
Crestwood School District, Mountain Top. Together with her husband, the late
George J. Yeager, they built and operated the George J. Yeager Funeral Home at
the Triangle in Fairview Heights.

She had resided in Mountain Top for 32 years and assisted in the operation
of the funeral home for three decades until her husband’s death in 1977. She
was a seasonal resident of Naples, Fla., during the 1980s, and was a resident
of Penn Lake until the time of her death.

She was a gifted teacher, an accomplished organist and a landscape painter.

She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Mountain Top, the former
Blue Ridge Chapter No. 140 Order of Eastern Star, a life member of the PTA,
the Wyoming Valley Women’s Club of Wilkes-Barre, and Retired Teachers
Association of Luzerne County.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary
Williams.

She is survived by great-nephews, great-nieces, and cousins, including Dr.
Thomas Kelly, Endicott, New York; Dr. David Thomas, Richmond, Vt.; Mrs. Kyra
Macko, Mark Thomas and George Thomas of Wilkes-Barre.

Funeral services will be Monday, July 18, 2005, at 11 a.m. from the McCune
Funeral Home, 80 South Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top. Services will be
officiated by the Rev. Charles Gyle, assisted by the Rev. Dawn Taylor-Storm.
Interment will follow at the Albert Cemetery, Wright Township. Friends may
call on Monday morning from 9:30 until the service time at 11.

Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor’s
choice.
