Mary Knapp

ary M. Knapp, of South Main Street, Preston section of Hanover Township,
died Sunday at the Summit Health Care Center, Wilkes-Barre.



Born Sept. 8, 1914 in Freeland, she was a daughter of the late John, Sr.
and Louise (Tariela) Balkus. She worked at Fernbaugh’s Silk Mill,
Wilkes-Barre. She was a former member of SS. Peter and Paul Church, Sugar
Notch, its Altar and Rosary Society and Christian Mothers Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W.; brother, John, Jr.;
and sisters, Adeline Zdanowicz and Anna Batanus.

Surviving are one niece and several nephews.



A private blessing service will be held on Wednesday from the George A.
Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley, with the Rev. John Terry
officiating. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township. There
will be no calling hours.
