Ruth McHale, 81, of Duryea, died February 21, 2010, at home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry McHale, on August 22, 2003.
Born in Milwaukee on September 27, 1928, daughter of the late Charles and Mary Corselius Newman, she was a graduate of Newton-Ransom High School, Class of 1947. Prior to retirement, she had worked as an aide for the former Maloney Home of Scranton. Of Methodist faith, she was a member of the Moosic United Methodist Church.
A sister, Margery LaCoe, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her three children, her son, Thomas McHale, and wife Mary Ann McHale, of Duryea; her two daughters, Donna Michalec and husband Al Sr., of Duryea, and Mary Ann Seeley and husband Ben, of New Smyrna Beach, FL; five grandchildren, Michael, Brian and Kevin McHale; Al Michalec Jr. and Kimberly Carmadella; and her great-grandson, Devin Michalec; and friend and companion, Louise Catalogna.
Funeral services and committal by the Rev. Richard Card, Pastor of the Evans Falls United Methodist Church, were held Feb. 23 at the Kearney Funeral Home, Old Forge. Interment Newton Cemetery.
