Timothée Chalamet was spotted on the set of Marty Supreme in Midtown Manhattan this week.

The Wonka actor, 28, has filmed back-to-back period pieces that have had him inhabiting the 1950s and 1960s for months.

In Marty Supreme, he plays 1950s ping pong phenomenon Marty Reisman who won two U.S. Men's Singles Ping Pong Championships in 1958 and 1960.

The on-set photos show Kylie Jenner 's boyfriend wearing 1950s-style pants, a button-down shirt and a black jacket.

The film also stars Gwyneth Paltrow , Tyler the Creator and Fran Drescher.

The Call Me By My Name star carried a black doctor's-style bag in the snaps and got into a vintage cab as the cameras rolled.

Prior to starting production on Marty Supreme, the New York native took on the role of Bob Dylan in the biopic A Complete Unknown which tells the story of a young Bob Dylan in the 1960s.

That film co-stars Edward Norton and Elle Fanning.

The sighting comes after a Timothée Chalamet look-alike contest in Washington Square Park went viral after the actor showed up to it.

Chalamet sparked pandemonium among screaming fans in lower Manhattan Sunday by unexpectedly showing up to his own lookalike contest.

Flanked by bodyguards, the actor posed for photographs with his curly-haired doppelgangers – some of whom had dressed as his characters, including Willy Wonka and Dune protagonist Paul Atreides.

At times, adoring fans accidentally heaped their attention on the lookalikes, apparently thinking they were face-to-face with the real Chalamet.

The frenzied event, advertised on flyers around New York, was one of several look-alike competitions hosted by YouTube creator Anthony Po.

As word spread on social media, thousands of people RSVP'd to the event, which promised $50 to the winner.

'It started off as a silly joke and now it's turned pandemonium,' said Paige Nguyen, a producer for Po.

Witnesses and competitors told DailyMail.com the scenes that unfolded were 'insane.'

'It was really funny, like a spectacle,' bystander Megan Hattie Stahl, 33, said.

'The people filming it and the people reacting to the cops became another layer of spectacle. It was just absurd.'

Competitor Noah Wilde, 23, said the contest was ranked by crowd vote, with people shouting for their favorite Chalamet.
