Today on Pinstripe Alley - 9/22/24

The Yankees had considerably less stress winning on Saturday compared to their series opener on Friday, this time blowing the A's out of the water from the get-go before winning a lopsided 10-0 game. Combined with another fumbled game by the Orioles, the team's magic number to clinch the AL East is a mere three games now, so depending on how both team's series resolve we could be looking at a win-one-and-clinch scenario when Baltimore rolls into town this week. What a wild turnaround for what was circled mere weeks ago as the do-or-die series of the month.

Before the Yankees see off Oakland for one last time, let's run through what we've got in store. Estevao starts us off by looking back at how the Yankees have sustained themselves atop the American League despite undercutting a lot of their initial projections, and then Andrew gets into the Rivalry Roundup while Kevin has the 1999 Diary. David does a deep dive into Austin Wells' improvement since sliding up into the cleanup role and whether that's made a statistical difference for him, and then after the game John has the social media spotlight featuring plenty from the team's postseason clinching celebration.
