Today's Forecast: A.M. sunshine, P.M. clouds, breezy, unseasonably warm
WEST MICHIGAN — The forecast from FOX 17 Chief Meteorologist Kevin Craig: We expect mostly sunny skies through the morning, but increasing afternoon clouds ahead of our next weather system. Look for breezy conditions today, and downright windy this evening and overnight. A cold front is set to pass through the state Friday morning, bringing scattered rain showers, strong winds, and falling temperatures. High temperatures return to the 40s by this weekend and next week. Rain is expected to develop on Tuesday, changing to a rain/snow mix Tuesday evening/night as colder air settles in. By Wednesday, Arctic air may be plunging into the Great Lakes and getting the lake effect snow making machine cranking up. Accumulations are possible into Thanksgiving morning, especially along/west of U.S. 131. Stay tuned to FOX 17 for your latest weather updates.
TODAY: Morning sunshine, but increasing clouds through the day. Breezy through the day, windy in the evening and overnight hours. Highs in the low/mid 60s. Winds south-southwest at 10 to 20 mph, increasing at 15 to 25 mph in the evening. Stronger at the lakeshore, 20 to 30 mph with 40+ mph gusts.
TONIGHT: Cloudy and windy with scattered rain showers. Less than .25" is likely in most spots. Mild temps overnight in the 50s, dropping into the middle 40s just after daybreak. Winds southwest at 15 to 25 mph. Gusts to 40/45.
FRIDAY: Windy with a chance of showers, mainly in the morning. Some afternoon clearing is likely. Falling temperatures. Highs after midnight and early morning in the mid/upper 50s, then falling in to the 40s behind a cold front by mid-morning. Winds north-northwest at 10 to 20 mph, gradually diminishing late.
SATURDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy and cooler. Highs in the mid/upper 40s.
