Travis Kelce Offers Hilarious Reaction to Viral Old Tweets on 'New Heights'
Jason and Travis Kelce addressed what they considered possibly the "biggest news of the week" early in the latest edition of their "New Heights" podcast. And it wasn't football-related.
The internet took Travis on a "trip down memory lane" last week by resurfacing several of his tweets on X, formerly Twitter . And, when they weren't facing off in what Jason referred to as the " Kelce family reunion " game—his Philadelphia Eagles beat the Kansas City Chiefs 21-17 on Monday night—the now-viral posts certainly grabbed the Kelce brothers' attention.
The Chiefs tight end's level of fame has risen significantly since entering a relationship with 12-time Grammy Award-winning pop star Taylor Swift . And that meant "Swifties" were busy digging up a variety of the younger Kelce brother's old posts. But what they found was an amusing, random assortment of tweets that covered everything from Travis' grades ("just got this C on my exam without even studying") to Taco Bell ("!!!"). Not that the 34-year-old ever thought anyone would care about them.
"What's hilarious is that nobody followed me back then," Travis said to his brother on Wednesday's podcast episode. "And I was just using Twitter as like a diary."
Travis Kelce #87 of the Kansas City Chiefs on November 20, 2023, in Kansas City, Missouri. Kelce addressed some of his viral old tweets during his latest podcast episode. Jamie Squire//The Kelce brothers then went on to joke about a few of the tweets in particular.
In one of them, Travis was seemingly excited about a chance to sleep and sent out "NAP TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", which the eight-time Pro Bowler referred to as a "classic." And then there's the one where he reveled in "shmackin" some Olive Garden fettuccine alfredo—apparently still a favorite. Jason and Travis agreed that the funniest post in their minds was one where the two-time Super Bowl champion tweeted about being called on in class when he wasn't paying attention. The younger Kelce didn't fold under pressure, which he called a "dub."
The Eagles center and Chiefs tight end also discussed a certain tweet from over a decade ago that didn't exactly offer the best display of spelling from No. 87.

"I'm just out here just saying nonsense," Travis said in reference to the post. "'I just gave a squirle a piece of bread' and spelled squirrel like a jackass."
"First of all, that's the new spelling for squirrel," Jason responded to his younger brother. "I'm only spelling squirrel like that from now on. I don't know why it's spelled the other way."
The NFL siblings are in on the social-media fun (as were a variety of restaurants Travis mentioned ) together after being on opposing sidelines in Week 11. Philly overcame a 10-point halftime deficit to beat the Chiefs in a Super Bowl rematch on Monday Night Football. Jason led the way on two "Tush Push" Jalen Hurts touchdowns. Travis caught seven passes for 44 yards and a score, though lost a pivotal fumble.
The Eagles improved to 9-1 with the win, while the Chiefs fell to 7-3.
If anything, the chance to relive some decade-plus-old moments with his brother provided some much-needed levity for Travis after a primetime loss. But don't expect the Chiefs' all-time receiving yards leader to drop any other internet classic anytime soon.
"This is why I don't tweet anymore," Travis said with a laugh while reading through his old posts. "Because it's just nonsense."
"Well, it sure made for an enjoyable week in rehashing some old tweets," Jason later said.
